Spørgsmål: Working in Copenhagen and living in Sweden as an non-EU-member

Hi, I am holding an Indian passport and currently living in Sweden under a "Look for a Work"-visa. I have an offer letter from a company based in Copenhagen. Can I continue to live in Malmo and travel to Copenhagen twice a week for work under Denmark's pay limit scheme?

Hi

Thank you for your question.

It is possible to apply for a work permit via the Danish Pay Limit Scheme. However, you must meet certain conditions to be granted a permit to work in Denmark on the Pay Limit Scheme.

Firstly, the annual salary received from the Danish-based company must at least meet the minimum amount of DKK 448,000.

Secondly, your salary must be paid into a Danish bank account. The account must be opened no later than 90 days after the date on which you have been granted a work permit in Denmark.

Thirdly, the offered salary and the offered terms of employment must not be inferior to the standards within the professional field in which you are going to work.

Fourthly, your working hours must be at least 30 hours a week.

Finally, a legal labor conflict cannot encompass the job offered.

If all these conditions are met, it is possible to be granted a permit to work in Denmark on the Pay Limit Scheme. You can find a step-by-step guide to applying to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) via the following link: https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/Applying/Work/Pay%20limit%20scheme?anchor=howtoapply

If the above conditions are not met, other opportunities are available to apply for a work permit in Denmark. This includes the Fast-track scheme and the Positive List for Skilled Work etc.
